With a legacy stretching back to 1919, Chuck Hutton Chevrolet has a rich and storied history. Our founder, "Big Chuck" Hutton, first made his mark in the automotive world in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. His remarkable success selling Dodge vehicles prompted an invitation from Walter Chrysler to expand, and in 1939, Chuck Hutton Dodge opened its doors in Memphis, Tennessee. This new venture flourished, becoming the first dealership in the United States to sell over 50,000 Dodge vehicles. The torch was passed to Chuck's son, Tom, who in 1972, transitioned the dealership to partner with Chevrolet, creating the Chuck Hutton Chevrolet so many have come to know and trust. In 1995, Tom's son, Henry, took the helm as president, solidifying the Chuck Hutton name as a leader in Chevrolet sales, parts and service across the Mid-South. In May of 2025, our story turned a new page as Young Kim, President of YK Auto Group, acquired the dealership from the Hutton family. This transition ensures that Chuck Hutton Chevrolet will continue to grow and remain a locally owned institution for years to come.
